Sales Analyst

Job Purpose

The Account Representative is responsible executing internal customer sales activities (contracting, pricing, market information).  This individual will support/shadow the activities of Sales Managers & will include some direct managed accounts. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, transaction-rich environment while delivering exceptional customer service is critical.  This position requires limited travel (up to 10%).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide direct support to Sales Managers & limited book of business via forward contracting, pricing, market management and quote request responses.
  2. Actively pursue new business opportunities to drive additional volume and gross profit.
  3. Support activities of Outside Sales as instructed by direct Manager. 
  4. Aggressively work with Oil Procurement, Operations, Sales, Marketing and other key internal support areas to support the needs of the Customer while balancing the profit center and company requirements.
  5. Functions as a conduit for Outside Sales & Customer feedback to the rest of the organization.  Proactively channels relevant market information and Customer feedback to the appropriate internal groups.  

Education: BS/MS in Business, Finance or Marketing preferred.

Experience: A minimum 1 to 3 years marketing, sales, or procurement/commodities experience required. Industry/futures market experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Provide direct support to Sales Managers & limited book of business via forward contracting, pricing, market management and quote request responses.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities to drive additional volume and gross profit.
  • Support activities of Outside Sales as instructed by direct Manager. 
  • Aggressively work with Oil Procurement, Operations, Sales, Marketing and other key internal support areas to support the needs of the Customer while balancing the profit center and company requirements.
  • Teamwork:  Works cooperatively with Outside Sales, Customer Service, Oil Procurement and Operations to accomplish cross functional tasks related to contracts and pricing.
  • Judgment:  Displays willingness to make decisions in a timely manner.  Exhibits discernment in the decision-making process.

Equipment and Software: Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel skills required.  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Voice Mail and Phone systems, etc.  IBM experience a plus.
