Operations Sales Analyst

Job Purpose

This is a sales position for Stratas Foods, Foodservice. The primary role for this position is to work closely with the Director of Business Development and the Foodservice Sales Team by utilizing analytical and planning skills designed to enhance sales team effectiveness and efficiency while driving incremental sales.  Salesforce.com administrator will be a primary job function by providing reports and analytics to support new business development.  This position will also provide analytics support via category management, Buying Group conference preparation, reviews and follow up.  The incumbent will provide financial reports by customer to help sales to identify business development opportunities, shortfalls, gaps, promotional and business-building activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work in partnership with the sales team daily updating and publishing reports utilizing Salesforce.com.  Act as the saleforce.com administrator, conduct ongoing field sales use training, generate various reporting & analytics, maintain Customer Development Plans
  2. Work with Sales Managers to ensure all Operator and Distributor programs are properly documented to support the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.  Develop capability to evaluate volume and margin velocity against identified metrics by sales rep:  Accruals, Buying Group Payments, Brokerage Commissions, Contracts, Customer P&L, Expenses and Pricing Strategies.
  3. Maintain ownership and master IBM data integrity of sales reporting metrics working in partnership with Sales, Customer Service, Finance and IT to publish Foodservice customized monthly sales reporting.   
  4. Gather and mine industry and sales data generating Category Management level reporting to provide insights and strategies to drive sustainable profitable growth and increased market share.
  5. Support sales team as a training resource to maximize utilization of salesforce.com and navigation of all reports and reporting tools.
  6. Support One Foodservice strategy coordinating National Account and Buying Group conferences including extensive business reviews for each appointment and assist from pre-show set up, to on-site show materials through post show follow up.
  7. Maintain and update sales tools:  Examples include – One Foodservice Calendar, Foodservice Alignment Maps, Sales Contacts, Broker Agreements, Sample reporting and analytics
  8. Manage cross-functional project timelines to ensure the timely completion of all projects: Examples include Tele Sales, Contests, Promotional Sales Activity, and assigned projects as needed

Education: Bachelor’s degree in general business or a related field. 

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years Foodservice experience or sales operations support. Must be able to handle diversity of tasks and manage them effectively.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills.  Must be able to learn as well as train.
  • Strong Retail and/or Foodservice background. Sales experience a plus.
  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Applications and Salesforce.com.
  • Strong analytical skills evidenced by the ability to mine data and identify performance trends by category and/or segment.  Ability to mobilize key findings into actionable recommendations through sales presentations created in PowerPoint and/or Excel.  Knowledge and practical application of industry data such as Technomic, NPD Credit, Datasential a bonus.

Equipment and Software: Skilled in Microsoft Office Applications
