Grilled Bratwurst
Ingredients
4 top quality Bratwurst German Brats
1red onion, shaved into thin slices
4 TBSP
Deli Mustard
2 TBSP whole mustard seeds
4 pretzel rolls
1 cup
Apple Cider Vinegar
2TBSP sugar
3 tsp Kosher salt, Sea salt as a substitute
Directions
In a small sauce pot, pour the
apple cider vinegar, sugar and salt, stir and combine all. Then add the mustard seed and red onions and bring to a slow simmer over low to medium heat for 15 minutes. Take off heat and set aside.
Turn the grill on and preheat for 10 minutes on medium heat.
Put the 4 brats on the grill tuning every 1 to 2 minutes until the entire brat is blistered and slightly charred on the outside. It is okay if the skin splits or rips make sure the center is hot. Should take about 5 minutes total.
On the pretzel roll, place a little of the pickled red onion down the middle, place the brat on the top then the
mustard and pickled mustard seeds ontop of the mustard as a garnish
